My Art Journey

My love of painting began when my caring & thoughtful husband registered me at the Buckhorn School of Art as a Mother's Day gift.  I arrived at the class totally unprepared without a brush, paper or paint to my name.

However, when I left the course, I came home with 3 framed watercolour paintings & a new found love ...... Other than my husband of course.

Given the success of his "gift of art" my husband then registered me at the Halburton School of Art and even came with me for the weekend as moral support & a little fishing on the side.

Over the next few years, I attended a few more art workshops at the Art School of Peterborough but it was not until I retired 4 years ago, that I finally had enough time to paint on a regular basis.

Over the last 4 years I have been developing my painting style & techniques and in 2013, I joined the Rideau Lakes Artists' Association.

I am currently the Committee Chair for the 2015 Art in the Barn Show, and display and sell artwork at the Cove Inn in Westport & Fiddleheads Pub in Perth.

In addition to my love of watercolour painting, I have also been exploring batik, acrylics & alcohol ink painting as new mediums to express my creative nature.
